Where was your first kiss?
The most exciting part about this topic is that Jason is the ONLY man I have (or will ever) kiss and I am the only woman he's ever kissed. After about a year of dating and many “toothbrush dropping hugs”…Jason told me that we were going on a 'date night.' (Already I was suspicious that something was up because we always went out together, but he never called them 'date nights!') So, we headed out for a nice dinner and afterwards he was trying to find a place with a nice view of the Vancouver city lights. (Hmmm…Gum in the backseat, a 'date night' and a nice view? I was pretty sure I knew what was up his sleeve!) So, we ventured up on top of Burnaby mountain where Simon Fraser University rests and walked around, looking at the city lights. I was trying so hard to act oblivious but I was also very nervous and unsure what I should be doing. He finally coaxed me to sit down and we sat side by side for quite some time. (All I could think was “look at the view, just FOCUS on the view!”). And then all of a sudden, the moment came and we FINALLY shared our first kiss. It was very special to share this expression of love with only each other! And let me just add, that waiting 19 years of my life and one year together with Jason was definitely worth it to give my first kiss to the one I will share all my kisses with.
What are some of the craziest things you've done together?

Well- Jason and I are both adventurous people and seem to like to try anything new and challenging. For example:

  • we ran a half marathon this past year together!
  • we biked 100 km (which was the first time I ever met His immediate family!)
  • we drove 16 crazy, crazy hours from Ottawa to Wisconsin, through the night and sometimes very hyper on chocolate covered espresso beans (and I learned how to drive standard for the first time on this trip which took us through Toronto and Chicago!)
  • in about a 4 hour stretch we rode roller coasters non-stop, without stopping for food or water, and JUST before he raced me to the airport (I almost missed my flight and ended up with sun stroke on the plane!)

We look forward to the fun, crazy, silly and adventurous times together ahead.

What are your favorite things to do together?
It's such a blessing that Jason and I share so many interests in common. That means that most things we can do together- just as you would do with your best friend! We love trying new ethnic foods, exploring new places, outdoor sports (most of our pictures together are hiking!), hanging out at chapters looking at photography or science books, and praising God in worship together.
What are some of your dreams for the future together?
  • To open up our home, family, and lives to others
  • To have a marriage and family willing to count the cost to follow Christ, wherever He may lead us
  • Travel!
  • Seek to serve others around us, especially those who are less fortunate
  • Run a marathon... perhaps
  • Bike around the Mediterranian Sea
  • Be students of each other, and do our best to help each other reach our full created potential

(A couple of the ways we've already been able to use our gifts to minister together include composing a couple worship songs, and writing an article on purity for a Christian website - you can read it here).
